Scott Jackson Out As Finance Director In West Haven

Mayor Nancy Rossi and outgoing Finance Director Scott Jackson have issued a joint statement in response to "widespread speculation."

WEST HAVEN, CT — Scott D. Jackson is leaving his position as West Haven’s finance director, he announced in a joint statement with Mayor Nancy R. Rossi on Friday.

Jackson, a former Hamden mayor, was hired to replace former Finance Director Frank Cieplinski one year ago.

Rossi and Jackson released the joint statement in response to “widespread speculation,” according to an email from the mayor’s office.

“After serving as West Haven’s finance director for the past year, Scott Jackson has decided to move forward in his public service career,” Rossi said. “Scott will continue to assist and support the city on bonding and budgetary matters in the coming weeks during his career transition. It has been a pleasure working with Scott, and the city has benefited greatly from his expertise. We wish him the very best in his future endeavors.”

Jackson said, “It has been my pleasure to work with so many hardworking city employees and dedicated City Council members to advance the best interests of West Haven.”

No further comments will be issued, according to the statement.
