Several Storm Drain Gates Stolen In West Haven: Officials

WEST HAVEN, CT — At least five steel storm drain grates have been stolen across the city and are allegedly being sold for scrap metal, according to West Haven Public Works Commissioner Tom J. McCarthy.

“When driving, riding a bike or walking, residents are urged to report any suspicious activity around storm drains by calling 911 or the West Haven Police Department’s nonemergency line at 203-937-3900,” reads a post on the West Haven City Hall Facebook page. “If a theft is observed, please get as much information as possible on the vehicle and its occupants to relay to WHPD. Any information provided will assist in the investigation.
