ShopRite In West Haven To Close: Report

WEST HAVEN, CT — The ShopRite on Campbell Avenue in West Haven will close on July 29, according to the New Haven Register.

Luther Turmelle of the Register reports about 148 people are expected to be out of work as a result of the closure. ShopRite’s owner, Garafalo Markets, notified state officials of the plans to close last week and said all but four of the workers who will lose their jobs are hourly employees, according to Turmelle. ShopRite opened a new location last fall on Bull Hill Lane in Orange, just over the West Haven border.
