Power Restored After ‘Significant' Outage In West Haven

Mayor Dorinda Borer said the city has received more than 100 911 calls due to traffic lights being down.

UPDATE: Power has been restored after a significant outage in West Haven, Mayor Dorinda Borer said in an update.

(Original post) WEST HAVEN, CT — Crews are at the scene of a “significant power outage” in West Haven, according to Mayor Dorinda Borer.

“There is a significant power outage related to a main feeder effecting both West Haven and some RT 34 New Haven approx 2500 out of power,” Borer wrote in a post on Facebook. “U.I. has crews on scene and working the issue to isolate and reroute power as quickly as possible. We have had over one hundred 911 calls as all traffic lights from Notre Dame north to the city line are down. Our public safety team is engaged. Please avoid the area to help manage the situation.”
