Special Election Set In West Haven
The special election will fill West Haven Mayor Dorinda Borer's former seat in the Connecticut House of Representatives.
WEST HAVEN, CT — The special election to fill the vacancy for West Haven Mayor Dorinda Borer’s former seat in the Connecticut House of Representatives will take place Tuesday, Jan. 23, Gov. Ned Lamont announced Friday.
The seat in the 115th House District, which consists of a portion of West Haven, became vacant when Borer resigned from the position shortly after being elected to serve as the city’s mayor.
Under state law, the governor is required to issue a writ of special election within 10 days of a seat in the General Assembly becoming vacant, and a special election must be held 46 days after the writ is issued.
