State Rep. Borer To Run For West Haven Mayor
State Representative Dorinda Keenan Borer is entering the race to become West Haven's next mayor.
WEST HAVEN, CT — State Representative Dorinda Keenan Borer is entering the race to become West Haven’s next mayor.
Borer, a Democrat currently representing West Haven’s 115th Assembly District, announced that she filed her paperwork on Monday to join the growing list of candidates.
“I’m running because, like you, I know the possibilities for our great City are endless and it’s time to unlock West Haven’s potential,” Borer wrote in a post on Facebook. “This can only happen with strong leadership, fresh ideas and accountability.

“Throughout this campaign, I will do what I always do for West Haven, stay positive, stay focused and deliver.
“This Thursday, I will make my official announcement where I will share my vision and goals. I hope you stand with me as together we will chart a new course for West Haven.

“The promise for the future belongs to all of us.”
Borer will officially announce her candidacy on Thursday, July 13 at 6:15 p.m. at The Boardwalk at Oak Street, according to the post.
Borer was first elected as state representative in a special election in 2017. She was named the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives in December.
Incumbent Democratic Mayor Nancy Rossi announced in May that she would not seek a fourth term in office and won’t run for re-election this November.
