Susan loved nothing more than spending time on the water, dancing to rock & roll music, and caring for her family.

Susan Ellen Skidmore, 71 of West Haven, passed away peacefully on October 17, 2026 while surrounded by her loving family. Susan, often known to those close to her as “Sue, was born on March 6, 1955 in Milford, CT to the late Alfred and Arlene Crego. She was the beloved wife of 43 years to Gary T. Skidmore.

Sue graduated from Milford High School, class of ’72, and went on to attend Housatonic Community College. Sue worked for many years as a waitress, and was well known in the community for being positive and attentive with all of her customers.

In her free time, Sue enjoyed listening to rock & roll music, dancing with her husband, and spending time with her loved ones. As a grandmother, Sue never missed an opportunity to spend time with her grandchildren, support their passions, or cheer at a sports event. She was a lover of animals, having many rescue cats through the years that she loved dearly. However, she was happiest of all when she was by the water, whether it was lounging on the beach or taking the boat out on the water. She religiously made sure that her husband, family, and friends spent their Sundays on or by the water, creating countless memories that will be cherished for a lifetime.
Sue will be dearly missed by all who were lucky enough to have known her.
