Tenured Teacher Fired In West Haven: Report

The teacher was fired following a vote by the Board of Education on Tuesday.

WEST HAVEN, CT —Tenured West Haven High School English teacher Vic Hogfeldt was fired following a unanimous vote of the Board of Education on Tuesday night, according to the New Haven Register. The board voted unanimously to accept the recommendation of an independent hearing officer to terminate Hogfeldt for ineffective, inefficient teaching and insubordination, the Register reports.

Hogfeldt has pending litigation in Superior Court against the Board of Education on claims that he was subjected to “harassment and discipline” for exercising rights that are guaranteed to him by the U.S. and Connecticut constitutions, according to the Register.
