The Trout Are Biting At The Maltby Lakes

Opening Day of Fishing Kicks off April 8th

Wishing you were fishing? Opening day of fishing in Connecticut is Saturday, April 8. With your state fishing license and a Regional Water Authority (RWA) recreation permit, you and your family can enjoy fishing for trout and catfish at the Maltby Lakes on Route 34 on the West Haven/Orange town line. Permit holders can enjoy miles of wide, well-kept trails through a wilderness that is just minutes from your home. The RWA provides easy-to-read trail maps and offers special events such as nature walks and fishing derbies.

Permits range in cost from $20 for a one-year Individual Permit for seniors, the disabled or students to $50 for a two-year Family Permit. You can purchase your recreation permit anytime online at www.rwater.com/recreation or call 203-401-2654 during regular business hours. Be sure to review
recreation program Rules and Regulations before purchase.
