Victim Identified in Fatal West Haven Motorcycle Crash

WEST HAVEN, CT — Leonard Nelson, 60, of Middletown, has been identified as the victim of a fatal motorcycle crash in West Haven over the weekend, according to police.

West Haven Police responded to the intersection of Savin Avenue and Atwater Street around 2:05 p.m. Saturday for the report of a motor vehicle accident with injuries. The 60-year-old man riding the motorcycle was taken to an area hospital and later died from his injuries, police said.

According to preliminary information, the motorcycle was traveling north on Savin Avenue when it collided with a Honda hatchback, which had been traveling south on Savin Avenue and was turning left (East) onto Atwater Street, police said.

The driver of the Honda was also transported to an area hospital.
