Wanted Man Accused Of Selling Drugs In West Haven: Police

Police said the man, who was wanted on several warrants, was arrested in connection with a drug investigation in West Haven.

WEST HAVEN, CT — A man who was wanted on several warrants was arrested Thursday in connection with a drug investigation in West Haven, according to police.

The West Haven Police Department Street Crime Unit launched an investigation in December into the “illegal distribution of ‘crack’ cocaine and fentanyl” by a suspect identified as 28-year-old Bries Beckford, according to police.

Police said the Street Crime Unit obtained three arrest warrants charging Beckford with several drug-related charges including sale of narcotics.

Search and seizure warrants were also secured two other people associated with Beckford, a New Haven resident and a Hamden resident, according to police.

West Haven police, with the assistance of the New Haven and Hamden police departments, executed the search warrants and took Beckford into custody on Thursday, according to police.

“As a result of these search warrants narcotics and evidence pertaining to illegal drug distribution was seized,” police wrote in a post on Facebook.

Police said Beckford also had multiple other arrest warrants out of the West Haven “for domestic violence offenses, violation of probation stemming from burglary and robbery offenses and failure to appears.”

Additional arrest warrants will be drafted, according to police.
