West Haven Police have released video from a surveillance camera that shows the moment of impact on the bike path during last week's storm.

West Haven, CT — West Haven Police have released video from a surveillance camera that shows the lightning strike on the bike path last week that jolted two people who were walking by at the time.
The couple was taken to the hospital where they were listed in stable condition and were later released, according to police.
Police advise residents to always seek shelter as soon as possible during storms.

They were walking near Oak Grove Park at about 5:50 p.m. last Thursday and were “getting out from the storm’s path and as they walked past a tree, that tree was struck by lightning causing the couple to also receive the energy transfer,” police said in a post on Facebook.
