West Haven Breast Cancer Awareness Program Awards Scholarship
Emily Cummings, a 2019 graduate of West Haven High School, will attend Southern Connecticut State University this fall.

From the City of West Haven: Councilman Nicholas W. Ruickoldt, D-2, the son of the late Susan Ruickoldt, [presented] a $2,000 check on behalf of the West Haven Breast Cancer Awareness Program to Susan A. Ruickoldt Scholarship Fund recipient Emily Cummings on Thursday, Aug. 1, at City Hall.
The fund was founded 17 years ago in memory of Ruickoldt, a city schoolteacher who died of breast cancer in 1997, and a check is awarded to a female high school senior from West Haven who plans to continue her education.
Cummings, a 2019 graduate of West Haven High School, will attend Southern Connecticut State University this fall.
