West Haven Election 2023: Dawn Callahan Running For City Council

WEST HAVEN, CT — The 2023 municipal election is heating up in West Haven with plenty of races on the ballot.

Voters will head to the polls Tuesday, Nov. 7 and cast their ballots for the position of mayor, along with seats on the City Council, Board of Education and more.

West Haven Patch asked candidates to answer questions about their campaigns and will be publishing candidate profiles as election day draws near.

Dawn Callahan is running for election to the West Haven City Council as a Democrat.

I am proud to say I am a lifelong resident of West Haven and have served on
The West Haven Rotary Club, The West Haven Fireworks Committee, An active member in our community with many fundraisers and community events such as building "Charlotte's Playground" for the Newtown Children, along with many drives for our children in our school systems.

Including new backpacks, coats, school supplies, and many more.

Fun fact about me is that I have been a professional ice skater most of my life, competing at the National Level.

I grew up ice skating in West Haven starting at Parks & Rec, building my own ponds, and then at the high school level. I went on to compete for many years and now coach figure skating, hockey, and learn to skate.

I love coaching and helping people achieve not only on the ice but in all walks of life to be the best they can be! :)

I am also by profession a licensed Mortgage Loan Officer working with many in our community to achieve their goals of home ownership.

I look forward to many more opportunities to serve our community and help with building up our city to be the best it can be for all our residents.
