West Haven Election: Jennifer Frost Running For Board Of Ed

WEST HAVEN, CT — The 2021 municipal election is heating up in West Haven with plenty of races on the ballot.

Voters will head to the polls Tuesday, Nov. 2 and cast their ballots for the position of mayor, along with seats on the City Council, Board of Education and more.

West Haven Patch asked candidates to answer questions about their campaigns and will be publishing candidate profiles as election day draws near.

Republican Jennifer Frost, 38, is running for election to the West Haven Board of Education.

Occupation: Independent Educational Consultant

Family: husband and 4 children

The single biggest issue in town is ______, and I plan to do this about it:

Quality of Life

I want to assess the resources that are currently housed under BOE and seek ways to maximize opportunities for full community involvement & access.

Critical differences between me and my opponents:

Experience with various forms of education from grassroots to collegiate. Education can not be one size fits all. Heart for families and children. Attitude of unity rather than divisiveness. Belief in people's/parents voices, educator voices, and not being silenced by National Boards or Unions.

Accomplishments:

Creating and running educational groups and my own business, assessing budgets, meeting with parents, and assessing students post high school needs.

Other issues:

-Budget Oversight

-Curriculum Development to maximize learning opportunities instead of cookie cutter classes, increase resources for technology, trades, more life skills preparation, opportunities for gifted and talented.

-Local government, people's choice: listen to the needs being addressed at every level from students to parents to administration

Conservative who values all life. Each person has a voice. Critical thinking skills are vital to education not indoctrination of one value mindset.
