The Westies were eliminated from the SCC tournament with a semifinal loss to top-seeded Sacred Heart Academy.
SHELTON, CT — The fifth-seeded West Haven girls basketball team was eliminated from the SCC tournament with a 53-31 loss to No. 1 Sacred Heart Academy in the semifinals Saturday at Shelton High School.
Maddy Burke scored a game-high 25 points for the Sharks, while Mila Harmon added eight points.
Tiranke Keita led West Haven (16-7) with 15 points and Noelle Lawrence added nine points.

The Westies opened the SCC tournament with a 67-38 win over Career in the first round, and then beat fourth-seeded Guilford 57-43 in the quarterfinals to advance to the semifinal showdown with Sacred Heart Academy.
Sacred Heart Academy will face sixth-seeded Sheehan in the championship game on Monday, March 2 at the M&T Bank Arena at Quinnipiac University.

West Haven will next play in the CIAC Division II tournament with a first-round game against Newtown on Saturday, March 7 at West Haven High School.
