Students, Staff Return to West Haven High School After Evacuation: UPDATE

UPDATE: West Haven High School students and staff have returned to the building after being given the all clear from the police and fire departments.

The gas odor was located and dealt with, according to police. A normal school schedule will be in place for the remainder of the day.

WEST HAVEN, CT — West Haven High School has been evacuated due to a gas smell in the hallway, school officials announced.

Students are being kept at the Edward L. Bennett Rink and at the school’s pool.

Officials said that there was a strong smell of gas in the school’s E-wing.
