West Haven Man Accused Of Attempted Sexual Assault Of Teen: Meriden PD
The man is accused of traveling to Meriden to meet with someone he thought was a 15-year-old girl, according to police.
MERIDEN, CT — A West Haven man is accused of traveling to Meriden to meet with someone he believed was a 15-year-old girl, according to police.
Kedar Lewis, 31, was arrested Friday in connection with a joint operation by the Meriden Police Department and the FBI to “enhance the societal safety of children,” according to police.
During the investigation, police said Lewis was speaking to what he thought was a 15-year-old girl and then traveled to a specific location in Meriden to meet with the person.

Lewis was charged with criminal attempt at risk of injury – sexual contact victim under 16, criminal attempt of second-degree sexual assault, criminal attempt at commercial sexual abuse of a minor, criminal attempt of enticing a minor, and criminal attempt in promoting a minor in obscene performance.
“The members of the Special Crimes Unit of the Meriden Police Department were assisted by members of the Crime Suppression Unit during this apprehension,” Meriden police wrote in a news release. “The Meriden Police Department is devoted to fully investigating any allegation of sexual abuse of juvenile or adult victims. We have a network of partner agencies that can facilitate providing services while also working towards enforcement when appropriate.”
