West Haven Man Parks Sideways, Charged With DUI: Orange PD

Police say the accused was stumbling around near his vehicle.

ORANGE, CT — A West Haven man is accused of driving while under the influence in Orange, police said. On March 7, officers responded to the area of Indian River Road for a report of a motor vehicle operating in an erratic fashion, police said.

Officers saw the vehicle, and followed the car into a parking lot, police said. The vehicle parked sideways in a parking spot, police said. Officers approached and came into contact with Eddy Ramirez, 39, of West Haven, police said.

Ramirez opened the vehicle door and exited and started stumbling around near the vehicle, police said. When asked questions, he presented confused, police said. There was a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath, police said. Ramirez was asked to perform Standardized Field Sobriety Tests. Subsequently, he was taken into custody and charged with DUI.
