West Haven Man Sentenced On Child Pornography Charge: Feds
The man was accused of receiving child sex abuse materials through an online app, according to authorities.
WEST HAVEN, CT — A West Haven man has been sentenced to six years in federal prison for receiving and possessing child sex abuse material, according to officials.
Adam C. Salgado Jr., 32, was also sentenced Thursday by U.S. District Judge Victor A. Bolden in New Haven to seven years of supervised release following the prison term, U.S. Attorney for Connecticut David X. Sullivan announced.
Prosecutors said a cloud-based storage company that provides services for wireless customers made multiple CyberTipline reports to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (“NCMEC”) that a user, identified as Salgado, had “videos of child sexual abuse stored on the account,” according to a news release.

“Subsequent investigation revealed that Salgado had a history of downloading and deleting the encrypted messaging app Telegram, which he used to connect with others who traded in child sex abuse material and to view and download hundreds of child sex abuse images and videos,” officials wrote in the news release.
Salgado was arrested on June 5, 2024, in Texas where he was serving in the U.S. Army. He pleaded guilty on Nov. 10, 2025, to receipt of child pornography.
