West Haven PD Arrest Led To Drug Trafficking Guilty Plea: Feds

WEST HAVEN, CT — A 24-year-old New Haven man pleaded guilty in federal criminal court to having and dealing fentanyl in West Haven, federal prosecutors announced.

Scheduled to be sentenced in April, Tashuan Minor-Davis faces a maximum of 20 years in prison, according to the U.S. Attorney for the District of Connecticut.

Around 10 p.m. on Sept. 25, 2020, West Haven police Street Crime Unit officers were conducting surveillance at a gas station. Prosecutors said officers saw Minor-Davis "engage in what appeared to be" a drug deal from a parked car.

Police tried to "conduct a stop" of the car, but prosecutors said that Minor-Davis took off. When police found the car soon after, they caught Minor-Davis after a brief foot chase and "recovered from him approximately 34 grams of cocaine and 19 grams of fentanyl."

Minor-Davis, released on a $100,000 bond, will be sentenced by U.S. District Judge Robert N. Chatigny on April 5.

This investigation has been conducted by the DEA New Haven Tactical Diversion Squad and the West Haven Police Department.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Tara E. Levens.
