West Haven Police Warn Of Possible Coronavirus Scam

Police are advising residents of a possible scam involving people going door-to-door claiming to be "CDC" officials.

WEST HAVEN, CT — West Haven police are warning residents of a possible door-to-door scam related to the new coronavirus. Police said that while no cases have been reported in West Haven, there have been reports of people going door-to-door in parts of the state posing as “CDC” officials with the intention of conducting a COVID-19 survey.

Police said the people then reportedly attempt to “gain access to the residence and either rob the resident or attempt to obtain personal information.”

Police are advising residents that the CDC does not have any personnel involved in door-to-door activity or in the field collecting survey information.
