West Haven Prevention Director Dies Unexpectedly

WEST HAVEN, CT — Nicole Wiley, director at the West Haven Prevention Council, died unexpectedly on Aug. 7, the organization announced. Wiley was 29.

"Nicole was with West Haven Prevention Council for a short time, but had already made a huge impact on the community," officials wrote on Facebook (see below).

Prior to her work in West Haven, Wiley was with Step Up Naugy: Naugatuck's Prevention Coalition, where again, she made "a positive impact on countless individuals of all ages in their community."

Wiley is survived by her husband, Jacob, her dogs (Clifford, Hailey, Zoe, and Goose), her horses (Salem and Binx), her parents (Sandra and William) and other loved ones in the Dutchess County, New York, area where she grew up.

Services are being held privately this week, officials said, but Naugatuck Youth Services will host an in-person gathering to honor Wiley next week. Details will be released soon.
