West Haven Republican Primary Election 2023: Candidates, Profiles

WEST HAVEN, CT — Registered Republicans will head to the polls on Tuesday, Sept. 12 for a primary election that features races for mayor and city clerk.

Paige Weinstein received the Republican Town Committee’s endorsement in July and is being challenged by former City Councilman Barry Lee Cohen.

Joe Viola is the endorsed candidate for city clerk and faces a challenge from Penny Sutcliffe.

The winners of Tuesday’s primary will be the Republican candidates on the ballot in the municipal election in November.
