West Haven Resident Named CFO At University Of Bridgeport

WEST HAVEN, CT — William Guerrero, of West Haven, has been appointed vice president of finance and chief financial officer at the University of Bridgeport, officials announced Monday.

Guerrero will be responsible for managing the financial stability of the university and will report directly to University of Bridgeport President Danielle Wilken, according to a news release.

“Bill’s track record as a proven senior finance leader in higher education will enable him to make immediate contributions to UB,” Wilken said. “We have made tremendous strides as an institution in the 10 months following Goodwin University’s acquisition of UB, and Bill will be an important member of our leadership team as we take the next steps in our strategic planning process.”

Guerrero has more than two decades of financial leadership in higher education. He joins the University of Bridgeport from Springfield College in Springfield, Massachusetts, where he served as vice president for finance and administration. He also previously served as vice president for finance and administration and CFO at Ithaca College in New York and vice president for finance and treasurer of Albertus Magnus College in Connecticut.

A lifelong resident of southern Connecticut, Guerrero earned his bachelor’s degree in Communications from the University of Connecticut and an MBA from Sacred Heart University.
