West Haven’s Riccio Lifts Albertus Magnus Soccer To Victory

WEST HAVEN, CT — West Haven’s Keegan Riccio scored the lone goal of the game to lift the Albertus Magnus College women’s soccer team to a 1-0 victory over Dean College on Wednesday afternoon.

The teams traded shots over the first 20 minutes of play, with neither squad able to find the back of the net.

The Falcons finally broke through in the 23rd minute when Riccio drilled a goal from about 40 yards out on a free kick.

Riccio, a West Haven High School graduate, rocketed the ball toward the goal, with it dipping at the last second to fly under the crossbar. It was the 30th career point for Riccio, a senior.

Albertus Magnus improved to 7-4-4 overall and 5-3-3 in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference. Dean fell to 2-9-3 (1-8-2 GNAC).
