West Haven Schools Shut Down Apps Amid IT System Difficulties
Officials say the district is experiencing "technical difficulties" with its IT system and has shut down some public applications.
WEST HAVEN, CT — The West Haven Board of Education has shut down some public applications, such as PowerSchool, due to technical difficulties with its IT system, according to officials. The incident was discovered on Wednesday morning (Feb. 26).
“The BOE and an incident response team have taken steps to resolve the issues and to determine the score and severity of the problem,” Superintendent of Schools Neil C. Cavallaro wrote in a statement. “At this moment, there is no reason to believe that any data was compromised or stolen. As a precaution, the BOE has intentionally shut down some public-facing applications, such as PowerSchool, while we work to fully understand the breadth of the incident.”
