West Haven Schools Superintendent Receives New Contract, Raise
The Board of Education approved the contract this week.

WEST HAVEN, CT — Superintendent of Schools Neil Cavallaro received a new three-year contract following a near-unanimous vote of the West Haven Board of Education this week, according to the New Haven Register.
The Register reports Cavallaro will receive a 1-percent raise in the third year of the contract and will not take raises in the first two years. He earns $187,000 a year.
Jim Morrissey was the lone board member to vote against the contract, saying he wasn’t against Cavallaro but preferred a two-year contract and didn’t agree with giving a raise in the third year after seeing teachers take pay freezes, according to the Register.
