West Haven Shocks Notre Dame In CIAC Division I Semifinals
The Westies advanced to the state championship game with a thrilling win over city rival Notre Dame in the D-1 boys basketball semifinals.
WEST HAVEN, CT — The West Haven boys basketball team ended city rival Notre Dame’s hopes for a third straight CIAC Division I title with a thrilling 43-42 semifinal victory Monday night at the University of Hartford.
With the win, the second-seeded Westies advanced to face top-seeded Staples in the championship game this weekend at the Mohegan Sun Arena.
West Haven, which lost to Notre Dame three times this season, also snapped the Green Knights’ 36-game winning streak against Connecticut competition, according to GameTimeCT.

Jordan Sirabionian led West Haven with 16 points while Quincy Dormevil scored a game-high 23 points for Notre Dame, according to GameTimeCT.
Arkansas-bound Abdou Toure finished with 12 points in his final high school game for Notre Dame.
