West Haven Teens Honored For Saving Man’s Life
The recent high school graduates were honored this week for saving a man from drowning earlier this month.

WEST HAVEN, CT — Two West Haven residents, both recent high school graduates, were honored at West Haven City Hall this week for saving a Milford man who was drowning at Indian Well State Park in Shelton earlier this month.
The New Haven Register reports Christian Sandor and Joseph Lombard, both 18 years old and recent graduates of the Sound School in New Haven, were issued proclamations and citations — along with gift baskets — for their heroics. Lombard, who is about to ship out to Air Force basic training, was ill and unable to attend the ceremony, according to the Register. Sandor, an Eagle Scout, also met with the man they saved, 35-year-old Fred Santoro of Milford, when they pulled him out of the water and performed CPR until authorities arrived.
