West Haven Woman Sentenced In Fatal Shooting In New Haven

The woman was convicted of murder following a trial in connection with a fatal shooting in New Haven, according to officials.

WEST HAVEN, CT — Brianna Triplett, 32, of West Haven, has been sentenced to 35 years in prison in connection with a fatal shooting in 2021 in New Haven, New Haven State’s Attorney John P. Doyle Jr. announced Tuesday.

A jury convicted Triplett of murder on Feb. 7 following a trial in New Haven Superior Court.

Triplett’s conviction stems from the shooting death of a 29-year-old woman on March 16, 2021, in New Haven, according to Doyle.

Doyle said evidence presented at trial showed that the victim was fatally shot in the back by Triplett during a fight.

“The New Haven State’s Attorney’s Office expresses its gratitude to the New Haven Police Department for their dedication and investigative efforts on this case,” officials wrote in a news release.
