Wheel Thieves Found Hiding on Floor of Parked Car: West Haven Police

An alert resident notified police after seeing three men attempting to steal the wheels off a car during the overnight hours on Thursday.

WEST HAVEN, CT — Three men were charged with attempting to steal wheels from a car early Thursday morning when an alert resident notified police and officers found the suspects hiding on the floor inside of a parked car.

West Haven Police responded to the 600 block of Savin Avenue at about 3:30 a.m. when the resident saw three males attempting to steal wheels from a Honda.

Officers immediately arrived on the scene, searched the area and found three males hiding on the floor inside of a parked car, according to police.

Police arrested the following (pictured from left to right):

Joel Cruz, 25, of Hulbert Street in New Haven.

Anthony Cruz, 20, of Popular Street in New Haven.

Ralph Gonzalez, 28, of Knox Street in West Haven.

All were charged with criminal trespass and larceny charges, according to police. All were held on bond.

Police said Gonzalez is also on parole.
