Winter Team State Championship History: West Haven Schools
West Haven-based high schools have earned 20 state team championships in winters past.
WEST HAVEN, CT — As practices for high school winter sports officially get underway Monday (girls basketball, ice hockey and wrestling) and Thursday (boys basketball, indoor track, boys swimming and girls gymnastics), hopes run high for all teams to achieve the ultimate goal: winning a league championship, and possibly a state title.
To help squads get into the championship mentality, here is a listing of the 20 CIAC winter team titles won by Notre Dame-West Haven and West Haven high schools in past years (* - indicates a co-op team).
