Woman Scratched Officer In Face During Dispute: West Haven Police

Police said the officer required medical attention for the injury.

WEST HAVEN, CT — A West Haven woman is accused of scratching a West Haven Police officer in the face while being questioned for a breach of peace complaint, according to police. West Haven Police responded to the area of First Avenue and Baggott Street at about 9:15 p.m. on Wednesday.

Officers found a motorist and pedestrian arguing in the roadway. Officers learned the pedestrian, Alexandra Peters, apparently swung her phone and struck the motorist's vehicle, which caused damage, according to police.

Police said that as Peters was being interviewed, she became combative and scratched the face of an officer deep enough for him to require medical attention.

Peters, 22, of First Avenue in West Haven, was arrested and charged with criminal mischief, breach of peace and assault on a police officer. She was held on bond.
