1 Injured In Weston House Fire On Blue Spruce Circle, Officials Say
One person was hospitalized after a basement fire at a Weston home; the fire was contained and remains under investigation.
WESTON, CT — One person was injured Sunday afternoon in a structure fire at a residence on Blue Spruce Circle, according to the Weston Volunteer Fire Department.
Fire officials said crews were dispatched at 2:58 p.m. Feb. 8 to 53 Blue Spruce Circle after a fire alarm activation. While units were en route, the Weston Communication Center received a 911 call reporting an active fire in the basement, prompting an upgrade to a full structure fire response.
Upon arrival, firefighters located a burn victim in the driveway and encountered heavy smoke conditions throughout the basement, officials said. Fire personnel rendered aid to the victim and confined the fire to the area of origin.

A total of 23 Weston firefighters responded, with multiple engines, rescue units and medic support assigned to the incident, according to the department. Station coverage during the response was provided by the Wilton Fire Department. The Georgetown Fire Department was also dispatched but was canceled while en route.
One person was transported for treatment of serious but non-life-threatening injuries. No additional injuries were reported.

Fire officials said the house was deemed habitable. The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Weston Fire Marshal. The last fire unit cleared the scene at 4:18 p.m., according to the department.
