1 Seriously Injured In House Fire In Weston, Fire Officials Say

Fire personnel located a burn victim in the driveway and a heavy smoke condition throughout the basement, officials said.

WESTON, CT — On Sunday afternoon the Weston Fire Department responded to 53 Blue Spruce Circle for a reported fire alarm activation.

While enroute Weston Communication Center received a 911 call reporting an active fire in the basement at the residence, which prompted the assignment to be upgraded to a structure fire response. Upon arrival, fire personnel located a burn victim in the driveway and a heavy smoke condition throughout the basement, officials said.

Fire personnel immediately rendered aid to the victim and confined the fire to the area of origin. Fire personnel remained on scene performing overhaul and ventilation. 23 Weston Firefighters responded to this incident. One person was transported to an area hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries; there were no additional injuries reported. The house has been deemed habitable and the fire remains under investigation by the Weston Fire Marshal.
