22-Year Easton Police Department Veteran Promoted To Sergeant
The Easton Police Department has promoted Officer Thomas Ceccarelli to the rank of sergeant.

EASTON, CT — The Easton Police Department has promoted Officer Thomas Ceccarelli to the rank of sergeant.
Ceccarelli joined the Easton PD on Nov. 8, 1999. Prior to becoming a police officer Ceccarelli served in the United States Coast Guard for four years, attaining the rank of seaman.
The new sergeant has been well-decorated in Easton. He was issued a Meritorious Service Award for pulling a trapped motorist from a burning vehicle in November 2000. He also was awarded a Certificate of Commendation in July 2004 for his work leading up to the capture of a burglar charged for crimes in Easton, surrounding towns and New York.

On December 15, 2013 he received a Life Saving Award for promptly locating a despondent person and saved their life moments before they were going to harm themselves.
Most recently, in October 2019, he was part of the Unit Citation presented to the Easton Police Department from the Connecticut State Police recognizing his work in a double murder investigation.

"Tom is the most senior patrol officer and is a leader in the department," said Easton Chief of Police Richard Doyle in a news release. "I have worked with Tom for 22 years and always find him to be reliable, responsible, and trustworthy. He is highly respected by his coworkers and the community. I was proud to recommend him to the Easton Police Commission for promotion to the Rank of Sergeant."
