The American Chamber Orchestra is pleased to present the winners of its Sixth Annual Concerto Competition at its spring concert on Saturday evening, June 6, 2015 at the First Presbyterian Church of Fairfield, 2475 Easton Turnpike in Fairfield. They are cellist Brianna Tam of Greenwich, pianist Gilbert Tsui of Weston and violinist Cameron Chase of Stratford.

17 year old cellist, Brianna Tam has been principal cellist for both the Norwalk Youth Symphony Principal Orchestra and the Brevard Summer Music Festival. She studies cello with Dr. Nicholas Hardie of Greenwich. Current concert master of the Norwalk Youth Symphony Principal orchestra is 14 year old Cameron Chase. He studies violin with Regi Papa of New York City. 15 year old pianist, Gilbert Tsui, has already won many awards. He has performed at Weill Recital Hall, at the Stanley H. Kaplan Penthouse at Lincoln Center and at Enlow Hall at Kean University, New Jersey. He studies piano with Steinway artist, Yoshie Akimoto

Included on the program will be the King Stephen Overture by Beethoven, the first movement of Dvorak’s Cello Concerto in B Minor, the third movement of the Mozart Piano Concerto # 23 and the first movement of the Bruch Violin Concerto # 1. The orchestra will conclude the program with Symphony #3 by Sibelius.

Music Director, Christopher James Hisey will conduct the orchestra. Mr. Hisey is also an Associate Conductor of the Greater Bridgeport Symphony and conductor of its principal Youth Symphony. He is the music director of the Civic Orchestra of New Haven and serves on the faculty of the Greens Farms Academy.
