Meadow Ridge, a continuing care retirement community (CCRC) in Redding, Conn., has once again been named one of the best senior living communities in the country by U.S. News & World Report. Meadow Ridge is the only community in Connecticut to earn a “Best” designation in all four categories of the 2026 Best Senior Living issue, which include CCRC, independent living, assisted living, and memory care. Meadow Ridge is also the highest ranked Connecticut community, and is tied for the second highest national rating, at 4.7 stars.

U.S. News & World Report analyzed surveys from residents and their family members for its selection process. Meadow Ridge earned high marks for activities and enrichment, food and dining, and management and staff. This excellence is shown in survey responses. One resident said, “Meadow Ridge has given my family and me a strong sense of security. It really feels like ‘home’ and it has large numbers of residents who are truly interesting and friendly.” Another resident said, “We have found Meadow Ridge to be very warm and welcoming. We are pleased with the large number of active, interesting, and intelligent residents and the very many diverse activities offered ranging from sports to music to current events.”

Meadow Ridge offers a distinctive lifestyle with outstanding amenities, a thriving community, and well-appointed apartment homes nestled in a picturesque country setting. As a CCRC, residents have peace of mind that their needs will be met with compassion and quality at every stage of life, whether in independent living, assisted living, or memory care. Ridge Crest, Meadow Ridge’s health center, was also recognized in U.S. News & World Report’s 2026 Best Nursing Homes issue for short-term rehabilitation.

“We are thrilled to be recognized again with these awards. This is possible because of the dedication, genuine care, and meaningful connections that our associates have with our residents in every interaction. I am proud of our team,” said Meadow Ridge Campus Executive Director Chris Barstein. “Our residents also make Meadow Ridge a special place. These honors reflect the spirit they bring to our community, and the many ways they care for and engage with each other.”

The 2026 U.S. News & World Report Best Senior Living issue represents feedback on thousands of senior living communities across the country. Meadow Ridge, a Benchmark CCRC, was recognized for its excellence among 41 Benchmark communities that earned a total of 60 awards this year.
