Police said River Road remains open to traffic, and the town's Highway Department has placed barriers around the affected area while emergency repairs are coordinated.

Officials said the roadway is being monitored regularly, particularly during periods of heavy rain, as the town works on a permanent repair.

Motorists are urged to use caution, obey traffic control devices and allow extra space around the barriers when traveling through the area.
