WESTON-EASTON-REDDING — All three towns pull their weight this weekend: Redding's converted Granite Church anchors both ends of it with live music, Easton hosts one of its own for an evening of hometown stories, and Weston turns its library over to rare books and collectibles for two full days.
- Bluegrass Nights — Thursday, 7 to 10 p.m. A monthly house-band gathering of traditional string music with open jamming through the evening. The Granite, 5 N. Main St., Redding.
- James Prosek: Growing Up in Easton — Friday, 7 to 8:30 p.m. The acclaimed author, artist and naturalist, a lifelong Easton resident, shares stories of how the town's woods, waters and wildlife shaped his career. Free, with light refreshments. Staples Academy Foundation, Congregational Church Hall, 336 Westport Road, Easton.
- Connecticut Gold Coast Book Fair — Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Sunday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The first-ever edition of this fair brings New York and New England booksellers together for rare books, antiquarian volumes, signed first editions and vintage travel ephemera. Free. Weston Public Library, 56 Norfield Road, Weston.
- 44th Annual Artisan Fair — Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nearly 50 local and regional artisans show handcrafted jewelry, pottery, woodworking, fiber arts and photography, alongside live entertainment and one of the area's largest community tag sales. Free parking and shuttle from Redding Elementary School. First Church of Christ, Congregational, 25 Cross Hwy., Redding.
- Each Melodious Measure — Sunday, 3 to 5 p.m. An afternoon musical program closes out the weekend's run at the venue. The Granite, 5 N. Main St., Redding.
Between a converted church hosting music on both ends of the weekend, a hometown author looking back on his own backyard and a library stacked with rare books, there's reason to cross town lines at least once this weekend.
