Artscapades: American Impressionism

Visit the Weston Public Library for an afternoon lecture about the art movement American Impressionism. Held Sun., May 17 at 3:30 PM.

The Friends of the Weston Public Library welcome back Robin and Jodi from Artscapades for a special Sunday afternoon lecture on American Impressionism: From the Hudson River School to the Art Colonies.

ArtScapades will explain how the French Impressionist movement arrived in America including the influence of art dealers, the education of American artists in Europe, and the formation of art colonies. ArtScapades will chronicle the lives and works of William Merritt Chase, Childe Hassam, John Twachtman, J. Alden Weir and Theodore Robinson.
