Barlow JV Softball Stands at 8-1

Brookfield JV 4, Joel Barlow JV 2

The always tough Brookfield JV softball team showed up at and scored once
in the first inning and three times in the second with back to back hits and some untimely and unusual Barlow errors. The only Barlow runs were scored by Rachel Corr and Gia Tuccinardi after their individual singles and smart base running scoring on wild pitches by the Brookfield pitcher.

After the second inning was done, Barlow pitcher Devon DeLallo took charge and fanned seven Brookfield batters while the defense pulled it together and held Brookfield hitless the rest of the game. Barlow fell short offensively and suffered their first loss of the season.

Joel Barlow 8, Bethel 2

After a tough 4-2 loss to rival Brookfield the Joel Barlow JV softball team is back to their winning ways with an 8-2 victory over Bethel.

The Barlow JV girls unleashed a six-run top of the first inning while batting thru the order. Devon DeLallo and Allie Grimes both hit base clearing triples during the barrage of offense during the inning. Barlow scored two more in the second inning and proved to be more that enough for the win.

With strong defense behind her, DeLallo chalked up another pitching win while striking out 10 batters.
