Barlow's Logan Fulton Finishes Second in SWC Cross Country Championships

Weston's David Stankiewicz placed sixth in the individual competition

Barlow's Logan Fulton finished second with a time of 16:57 in Friday's South-West Conference boys cross country championships at Bethel.

Fulton finished 25 seconds behind winner Jake Feinstein of Newtown and helped the Falcons place sixth in the team competition behind New Milford (50) Newtown (58), Pomperaug (95), Weston (95) and Brookfield (129).

The top runner for Weston was David Stankiewicz, who was sixth overall with a time of 17.18. Noah Krassin of Weston placed eighth (17:21) while Jonathan Pelzar was Barlow's No. 2 finisher and 18th overall (17:44).

Also in the top 25 was Weston's Matthew Bolin at No. 23 (17:59).

In the girls' race, Emily Winter of Barlow came in sixth (20:33),  the only Barlow or Weston runner to finish in the top 25 individually.

Immaculate earned the team championship with 46 points, followed by Newtown (82), Pomperaug (98), New Milford (108) and Oxford (143) to complete the top five. Barlow was sixth (159) and Weston 12th (371).

The New Milford boys won their 10th consecutive conference crown and their 13th since the SWC's inception in 1995. The Green Wave put three runners in the top 10 and five in the top 20.

Pomperaug's Brittany Mendelson won the girls title for the second straight year with a time of 19:48. Immaculate's team title was the first in school history.
