Barlow's Comeback Attempt Falls Just Short In SWC Girls Lacrosse Final

Falcons nearly erase a six-goal deficit in the final 10 minutes, but Newtown holds on for a 17-16 win to claim its seventh consecutive league title

The Newtown girls lacrosse team was in seventh heaven, but Barlow made it as difficult as possible.

The Falcons' bid to unseat Newtown as the South-West Conference champions came up just short Friday as the Nighthawks held off Barlow 17-16 to win their seventh consecutive league championship.

Barlow staged a remarkable comeback, rallying from six down in the final 10 minutes to slice the deficit to a single goal with 54 seconds remaining, but the Nighthawks held off the Falcons in the final minute.
