BOYS OF STEEL CREATOR TO SPEAK @ EASTON PUBLIC LIBRARY

SIGN UP TODAY - Monday, August 3 @ 3:00 p.m., patrons in Gr 3 + are invited to this amazing superhero-themed summer program.

Come meet author Marc Tyler Nobleman who has written more than 70 books. He will join us to talk specifically about two of his superhero-themed books, Boys of Steel: The Creators of Superman, which made the front page of USA Today, and Bill the Boy Wonder: The Secret Co-Creator of Batman, which has appeared everywhere from NPR’s All Things Considered to the TED stage.

His superhero books appeal to comic book lovers old and new, as well as those who simply enjoy a good story. They emphasize themes such as standing up for the underdog, righting a cultural wrong, pushing for justice even if the possible benefactor will never know, taking pride in one’s work, staying true to one’s passion though hardship, and other inspiring calls to action.

Marc has been invited to schools, conferences, and other venues in more than 30 states and internationally to speak with audiences both young and young at heart about his groundbreaking detective work, the lows and highs of the writing process, and more. His talks are part motivational, part educational, and all entertaining.
Marc’s nonfiction is unprecedented in terms of both the exhaustive nature of his research and the unexpected real-world effect his efforts have had. Nobleman is very familiar with this summer’s theme – “Every hero has a story.” According to Kymberlee Powe, Children’s/Teens’ Librarian, “These books provide a back story to the comic book and movie characters that we love and admire, while, at the same time, unraveling the mysteries of their origins. The accomplishments made by the creators of these books remind us that nothing is impossible is we’re willing to put in the work.”
