Georgetown Day - An Old-Fashioned Street Festival
Georgetown borders Redding, Weston, Wilton, and Ridgefield. Don't miss the annual celebration of Georgetown Day!
Have you ever been to ? It's a free, annual family-friendly event on Main Street in Georgetown that showcases local talent, good food and drink, and live demonstrations that are appropriate for adults and children.
The first year we went (2009), I immediately felt like it was an old-fashioned street fair like the ones I used to go to in NYC. My kids enjoyed following the wandering magician around and I liked patronizing the tents with crafts and free samples from food vendors while listening to local bands jam throughout the block. It's a manageable-sized fair that the younger kids will even tolerate.
Last year, we spent a lot of time in the bounce house, played games, watched martial arts demonstrations, and joined in on yoga sessions. My daughter also enjoyed her train ride. Some folks may want to partake in the chili cook-off or the hot dog eating contest. We'll be there cheering for you!
