It's a Bum Wrap!

Amey Simonds got the idea for It’s A Bumwrap™ at dance class one day. Wanting something to wear over her workout pants and leggings that would cover her derrière, complement her hips, and add a layer of fashion and fun at the same time, she cut the straps off one of her camisoles, made a few adjustments, and created the first bumwrap! Amey knew that any woman who enjoyed looking and feeling great during dance class, yoga, running or participating in any sport would embrace the bumwrap. She also believed that its fun and flirty look would appeal to ‘tweens and teens. In fact, any female could rock the It’s A Bumwrap™ look!

Amey shared her idea with her sister Liz Flavin, and It’s A Bumwrap™ was born. After designing several eye-catching samples, the two women started wearing them around town. Before long they had produced over three dozen exciting designs, launched a business and an online store, and the orders began pouring in.

“Fashion can change in a heartbeat,” says Flavin, a veteran of the fashion industry. “When I saw Amey’s prototype I knew we had a hit on our hands. We get requests from females ranging anywhere from 8 to 80, and we’ve only just started.

Simonds is thrilled. “The reception that It’s A Bumwrap™ has gotten so far is incredible. We’re already working on our next collection.”

They are introducing a Beach/Pool Bumwrap Collection in a few weeks - fun prints and a great palette of summer colors for beach and pool.

Inspired by fashion, fitness and entrepreneurship, Flavin says she is guided daily from a quote by Goethe, "Whatever you can do or dream you can, begin it. Boldness has genius, power and magic in it. Begin it now."
