Branchville Florist Brings Skillful Eye, Expert Design to Shop
Deirdre Regan, owner of The Flower Girl in Branchville, is sharing her passion in a series of workshops and events.

BRANCHVILLE, CT — When an artist is passionate about their craft it shows and Deirdre Regan, owner of The Flower Girl in Ridgefield, is sharing her passion in a series of workshops and events.
Regan, lovingly referred to as "Dee" or "Gigi" by her closest friends, has lived in Ridgefield for 12 years and, after six years of searching, recently opened up her shop which is located adjacent to the Branchville Train Station at 14 West Branchville Rd.
"I wanted to open a florist shop for the last six years, but was waiting to find a location that spoke to me," Regan said. "I had my eye on the historic building at for several years . I loved that it looked like a saloon right out of the wild west so when I saw it come on the market in 2016, I jumped at the chance to buy it.
The building was once the original Branchville train station and has all the charm, character, light and space she found ideal for a full service retail florist shop.
"I spent 5 months repairing and updating the space, including three apartments above my shop."

With the help of her long-time friend and fellow Floral Designer, Jessica Bowen, Flower Girl opened its doors in May of 2017.
"We're unique from other shops because of our product and skillfully designed, unique floral arrangements," she said, continuing, "Our only goal is to completely wow our customers and surpass their expectations. Hopefully in doing so, we remind the community why they should buy from us rather than a large retail chain."

In a recent workshop she led at the Arts & Nature School of Ridgefield, Regan explained to guests that when they order online from 1-800 flower shop delivery services, they take a 30 percent cut so not only is the customer over paying, but the local shop owner is losing money as well.
"We are also extremely motivated to purchase our products locally whenever possible, not only to provide the freshest possible flowers and plants to our customers but to support our local community. We are huge fans of shopping local," Regan said.
Regan will lead a door swag making event at the newly opened Arts & Nature School of Ridgefield on Friday, Dec. 8, 2017. Click here for details and tickets.
