Welcome the Voices of Nature to your Garden: Learning the Practice of Soundscape Ecology

Soundscape ecology is the study of sound in landscapes and the acoustic relationships between living organisms and their environment. Learn about this fascinating new field and how you can learn to listen better and create landscapes that encourage nature’s chorus. Includes a talk and easy 20-minute sound walk.

Facilitator Cathy Smith is a local gardener and amateur naturalist, with an interest in native plants and insects and creating nature-friendly landscapes. She has a gardening certificate from the New York Botanical Garden and has completed the Master Gardener, Master Composter and Accredited Organic Land Care Professional programs.
